If you’ve picked up this book (or even if you’re just reading this review), I’m guessing you know who Mindy Kaling is. She’s our dusky, exotic customer service rep. (And if you don’t get that reference, you should definitely binge watch “The Office” right now.)
Maybe you’ve seen “The Office” and “The Mindy Project” and wondered what she was like as a teenager. How she got started on “The Office.” And just general things like what diet she prefers. (Just kidding on that last one. I’d never thought about that, either.)
I loved this book because we really learn about Mindy and her life experiences. In high school, as a writer, and as an actor. She is so funny to me, but not necessarily in a laugh-out-loud (or LOL, if you will) way. She writes in more of a giggle-to-yourself,-nod-appreciatively,-and-underline-the-given-quote kind of way. Mindy’s observations on life are hilarious because they are so insightful.
This is a fast read and I loved it. Also, Mindy and I should be best friends.
