Surprise, surprise: My TBR is shamefully long…

I have had a New Year’s Resolution for the past two years that I have failed miserably at. I’m strong for a little while, but in a moment of weakness, I ruin it.

Every year.

It’s this: Don’t buy any more books until I read all the books I own.

We all know books are pack animals. And letting me into a bookstore is like letting a redneck into a gun shop. Or a sugar-rabid child into a candy store.

This comic = ME

So this is basically an accountability post… Which is what I need. Shame and accountability.

Without further ado, here are the books that are currently sitting on my bookshelf right now (whether physical or my Kindle), waiting for their turn to be read.

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire (Even though I love the musical, I’m kind of dreading this one because it’s gigantic and doesn’t have great reviews…)

The Last Star by Rick Yancey (This is the third book in The 5th Wave series and I want to read them all in one go. So by naming this one, I’m basically saying I’m going to read 3 books…)

The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman

Once and For All by Sarah Dessen

Like a River Glorious by Rae Carson (I looove this series. Or at least I loved the first book. Again, planning on reading the series in one go.)

A Mother’s Reckoning: Living in the Aftermath of Tragedy by Sue Klebold (This is the autobiography of the mother of the Columbine shooter… I got it from my Book of the Month subscription and I’m not super excited about it…)

Spark Joy: An Illustrated Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up by Marie Kondō (I’m going to need the motivation to clean my house when I read this one.)

The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank

The Shining by Stephen King (I’m waiting for Fall to start this one! But you don’t even know how excited I am about it.)

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (I’m excited for this one, but it’s daunting because it’s so thick.)
