Oh Fall. The season of sweaters, crisp wind, pumpkin spice, and apple cider. If Christmas didn’t exist, Fall would be my favorite time of the year.
Here are the books I’m looking forward to reading this Fall. With a hot cup of tea next to me, preferably.
I have literally been saving this book for almost a year so that I can read it during Halloween time. I am so excited. Will I be sleeping with the lights on? Maybe. Will I be shoving the book in the freezer like Joey? Also maybe.
2. The Grave Keepers by Elizabeth Byrne
I don’t know a lot about this one, but it’s about a cemetary. And a ghost who wants to keep a live person with her forever. Sounds adequately creepy to me!
3. The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey
A little girl zombie? Count me in.
4. The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon
Kind of more winter-y? But the cover is ghostly so I’ll read it during the creepy time of the year.
5. These Shallow Graves by Jennifer Donnelly
I’m pretty sure this is more of a mystery than about spooky stuff, but it has “graves” in the title so we’ll go with it.
6. Halloween Carnival: Volume 1 by Robert McCammon
This is a book of short stories, based around Halloween. I’ll eat a big bowl of fun-sized candy bars until I get sick while reading this one. Just to stay in the true spirit of Halloween.
Honorable Mention… (because I already read it so technically it can’t be on my TBR anymore, but you should read it this Fall)
The Last to See Me by M. Dressler
This is the story of a haunted house, but from the viewpoint of the ghost herself. Very different and spooky.
I have also been in the mood to reread The Hunger Games series. So that might happen too.
What are you going to be reading this Fall?
