My July TBR
I have much higher hopes for my TBR in the month of July, but these are the books I am planning on reading. Hopefully I’ll kick a few more off my TBR, too.
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (How have I lived this long and NOT read this book? I know, I’m mad at myself too.)
Lady of Sherwood by Molly Bilinski (I received this in the May LitCube box. It’s not something I’d normally choose for myself, but I am more than willing try it. I hope I love it!)
A Strange Companion by Lisa Manterfield (I received this in the June Once Upon a Book Clun box and I am SO excited about it. I’ll do a full unboxing and review once I’ve finished the book.)
Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myers (I expect plenty of sad tears from this one.)
Reflection: The Stranger in the Mirror by Rachel R. Smith (Super excited about this one! I got it for free from the author on Instagram.)
How Toddlers Thrive by Tovah P. Klein (Because I have a tiny human and I need all the help I can get.)
Now forward ho into July! I’m totally breaking out my American flag leggings for Independence Day. If they were baggier, I’d basically be Rex from “Napoleon Dynamite.”
And now I feel like I owe y’all a picture of said leggings. (I’ll post one in July’s wrap up, how about that?)

Don’t feel bad about your reading! I only read 3 books in June but hey, that’s 3 more than nothing, right? ha! I was surprised how much I enjoyed A Man Called Ove and my book club was split, with half of us liking it and the other half hating it. Will be curious to see what you think!

I’m on the fence right now about “A Man Called Ove,” which I am so surprised by. I thought I would love it, no question. What were the reasons they didn’t like it? (The people in your book club) 🙂

Some of the people complained that the pace of the book was too slow, some didn’t like Ove, and one lady said she hated the writing but couldn’t explain why. It’s funny how people can read the same book and have such different reactions! I’ve known people like Ove so maybe that had something to do with my enjoyment of the story? But I also liked the writing and thought the pace was fine.

I think four can be a good solid number, especially if you have a really busy month or you’re dealing with a book slump. I always marvel at the bloggers who read 15+ books in a month. How do they do that? Do they own some kind of time travel device that they are hiding from the rest of us? I really enjoyed The Great Gatsby. It’s one of those books I missed out on in high school for some reason, but am glad I picked it up on my own. Hope you enjoy your July!

I haven’t watched the show yet! I keep waiting until I have enough to binge-watch it. I have a feeling I’m going to want to watch it all at once so I’ve been putting it off for too long!

I had the same thought when I finally read The Great Gatsby – I had been putting it off for so long because I thought it was going to be long and dry! Turned out, it isn’t 😛 Hope you enjoy it 🙂

I only read four books this past month too! It’s nice to see another book blogger who hasn’t read like 30 books in a month or something absurd. I’m jealous of the bloggers who can get through many books in one month but right now that’s so not me.
